象徵高貴與優雅的千代蘭，是每年農曆春節的年節花禮許多花藝設計師愛用的花材，尤其以充滿喜氣的紅色千代蘭深受大眾喜愛。
千代蘭，學名Ascocenda sp.，屬於蘭科，仙達蘭屬，原產於亞洲。
千代蘭花色多元，色澤鮮艷飽滿，有些花瓣上會帶有特殊的斑紋造型，十分典雅細緻；圖中的紅色千代蘭，顏色是喜氣洋洋的喜酒紅，適合搭配應景的年節花藝來傳遞新春吉祥的祝福，也適合使用於結婚的場合，喜氣又大方。
許多同學會詢問：「百代蘭、千代蘭、萬代蘭的差異是什麼？」
千代蘭其實是百代蘭與萬代蘭雜交的品種，從命名上可以猜出相對應的花型大小，屬萬代蘭花型最為碩大，千代蘭中等，百代蘭花型則最小，但三種蘭花的花序排列都是一支花莖上排列著複數以上的花，花序飽滿，在花藝作品裡，無論是一支獨秀或是填補空間，都非常適合。
在花藝作品中加入蘭科植物，更顯東方韻味，也因蘭花屬於熱帶地區花卉，能讓人感受熱帶叢林的氣息，花卉所傳遞的文化意義與天然特性較為強烈。
千代蘭在花卉市場裡，同時以切花和盆栽的形式提供販售，有別於素雅色系的蘭花品種，千代蘭搶眼的色調讓人無法忽視它的存在，而在切花觀賞的形態下，蘭科植物賞花期相對較長，以目前台灣的冬天通常可以欣賞10天以上，有機會可以買一支千代蘭回家瓶插，欣賞千代蘭獨有的韻味與貴氣。

The symbol of nobility and elegance, the ascocenda orchid, is a favored floral material for many floral designers during the Lunar New Year, especially the vibrant red ascocenda that exudes a festive atmosphere and is widely loved by the public.
Ascocenda, scientifically known as Ascocenda sp., belongs to the Orchidaceae family and the Vanda genus. It is native to Asia.
Ascocenda orchids come in various colors, displaying vivid and full hues. Some petals may have unique patterns, adding an elegant and delicate touch. The red ascocenda orchid in the picture is a joyful wine-red color, perfect for creating festive floral arrangements to convey blessings for the Lunar New Year. It is also suitable for use in weddings, adding both joy and elegance to the occasion.
Many people often inquire about the differences between vanda, ascocenda, ascocentrum.
Ascocenda is actually a hybrid variety of vanda and ascocentrum. From the names, you can infer the corresponding differences in flower size. ascocentrum has the largest flowers, ascocenda is of medium size, and vanda has the smallest flowers. However, all three orchids have multiple flowers arranged on a single stem, making them suitable for both standalone displays and filling spaces in floral arrangements.
Incorporating orchids into floral arrangements adds an Eastern charm to the composition. Since orchids are tropical plants, they evoke a sense of the tropical jungle, and the cultural significance and natural characteristics of these flowers are quite pronounced.
Ascocenda is available in the flower market both as cut flowers and potted plants. Unlike the more subdued colors of some orchid varieties, the eye-catching tones of ascocenda make it impossible to ignore. In the form of cut flowers, orchids generally have a longer flowering period, with ascocenda typically offering over 10 days of enjoyment, especially during the winter season in Taiwan.
