外型與「月圓」十分相似的乒乓菊，特別選在中秋節前夕，與大家一起認識「乒乓菊」。
乒乓菊，學名Dendranthema morifoliumcv.’pompon’，屬於菊科，菊屬，原產於日本，圖中品種為黃色乒乓菊。
乒乓菊常見的顏色有白、黃、綠、淺粉，圓滾滾的外型如同乒乓球一般，因此被命名為乒乓菊；黃色乒乓菊，更像是一顆綻放光芒的滿月，象徵團圓、美滿、圓滿的寓意。
乒乓菊擁有360度的球體花型，無論是在傳統節慶花禮或是現今的商業花禮都深受喜愛；使用於傳統節慶的乒乓菊，象徵吉祥如意與圓滿；在現今商業花禮的應用，乒乓菊除了帶給人活潑可愛的氛圍外，圓形的球體也可加工玩偶的眼睛、微笑、耳朵，搖身一變成為大朋友和小朋友都很喜愛的卡通造型或是可愛小動物的樣貌，十分可愛。

The pompon mum, which resembles a full moon in appearance, is specially introduced to everyone on the eve of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The pompon mum, scientifically known as Dendranthema morifolium cv. ‘pompon,’ belongs to the Asteraceae family and Chrysanthemum genus, originally hailing from Japan. The variety depicted here is the yellow pompon mum.
Pompon mums are commonly found in colors such as white, yellow, green, and light pink. Their round and plump appearance resembles that of a ping pong ball, hence the name “pompon mum.” The yellow pompon mum, in particular, looks like a radiant full moon, symbolizing reunion, completeness, and fulfillment.
Pompon mums exhibit a 360-degree spherical flower shape, making them popular choices for both traditional festival floral arrangements and modern commercial floral gifts. When used in traditional festivals, pompon mums symbolize auspiciousness and completeness. In contemporary commercial floral gifts, they not only create a lively and adorable atmosphere but can also be creatively shaped into cartoon characters or cute animals by adding eyes, smiles, and ears, making them highly appealing to both adults and children.
Based on our past experiences in Daisy Academy, we often use yellow and white pompon mums during graduation season to wish graduates a bright and brilliant future. During traditional festivals such as the Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival, the plump, yellow pompon mums symbolize reunion. On Children’s Day or children’s birthdays, we craft pompon mums into cute animals or cartoon characters.
