識花時刻終於來到第一篇葉材介紹，主花與配花固然重要，葉材更是花藝作品中用來襯托主角、拉線條、填補空隙而不可或缺的存在；尤加利葉的品種高達1000多種，其中小圓葉尤加利葉又被稱作銀葉桉，被廣泛運用在各式花藝作品中，顏色為灰綠色調，葉片小、枝桿硬挺，而且帶有特殊的香氣，適合在花藝作品中作為線條延伸來使用。
今天特別選了妮晏老師愛用的小圓葉尤加利葉來介紹。（老師最愛小海桐葉，小圓葉尤加利葉是第二名），幾乎每一個作品都有它的蹤影，一起來認識這款好用且百搭的小圓葉尤加利葉。
尤加利葉，學名Eucalyptus spp.，屬於桃金孃科，桉屬，原產於澳洲與東南亞，圖中品種為小圓葉尤加利葉。
尤加利葉具有治療的功效，早期澳洲原住民毛利人會運用尤加利葉來治療感冒、發燒、蛇咬傷、花粉熱等病痛，也可敷在傷口上加速癒合，因此尤加利葉又被稱為「大地的恩賜」，既可減輕痛楚，也可用來驅邪。
蒸餾過後的尤加利葉產生的精油香氣清新，有助於醒腦與驅蟲，讓人放鬆的香氣，搭配按摩使用，可以舒緩疲勞，幫助恢復精神！
小圓葉尤加利是適合乾燥的葉材之一，可將其倒掛，放置陰涼處乾燥; 乾燥後的尤加利葉做為乾燥花作品素材，或單純的擺飾都相當好看，線條俐落分明，不妨試著擺上幾枝尤加利葉來提升居家質感。☺
▌小提醒：
處理尤加利葉時，有時候手指會黏黏黑黑的，是尤加利葉的精油，清洗不易，建議可以使用酒精噴在手指黏黑處，手指搓一搓，黑色的黏液就會漸漸消失。

✿ Flower Recognition Moment ep 16 / Eucalyptus Baby Blue
Flower Recognition Moment has finally come to the first foliage introduction. The focal and filler are intrinsically important, but foliage is indispensable to set off the focal in a floral design. There are more than 1,000 varieties of eucalyptus. Among them, the eucalyptus baby blue, also known as silver-leaved gum, are widely used in various floral designs. The color is gray-green and not eye-catching. The leaves are small and the branches are stiff and with a special aroma, which is suitable for use as a line extension in floral works.
Today, the introduction is about the eucalyptus baby blue, a favorite of floral designer Ni-Yen (her top choice being the kohuhu leaves). Almost every one of her works features these leaves. Let’s get to know this versatile and practical eucalyptus variety.
Eucalyptus, scientific name Eucalyptus spp., belongs to Myrtaceae, genus Eucalyptus, and is native to Australia and Southeast Asia. The one in the picture is eucalyptus baby blue.
Eucalyptus leaves have therapeutic effects. Early Australian indigenous Maori used eucalyptus leaves to treat colds, fevers, snake bites, hay fever and other ailments. They could also be applied to wounds to speed up healing. Therefore, eucalyptus leaves are also known as “the gift of the earth”. It can not only relieve pain, but also be used to exorcise evil spirits.
The essential oil produced by the distilled eucalyptus leaves has a fresh aroma, which helps to refresh the mind and repel insects. The relaxing aroma, used in massage, can relieve fatigue and help restore the spirit!
Eucalyptus baby blue is one of the leaves suitable for drying. You can hang it upside down and place it in shadow to dry; the dried eucalyptus leaves are very beautiful as materials for dried flowers, or as simple decorations, with neat lines. Try placing a few eucalyptus to enhance the atmosphere of your home. ☺
▌Reminder: When handling eucalyptus leaves, you may find your fingers sticky and dark. This is due to the essential oils in the leaves, and cleaning can be challenging. It is recommended to use alcohol, spray it on the sticky areas, rub your fingers together, and the dark residue should gradually disappear.
