連續三年，小雛菊花藝的春節花禮都有使用的「東亞蘭」，是妮晏老師最喜歡選用的年節花材，今天就讓小雛菊花藝來向大家介紹充滿東方韻味的「東亞蘭」。
東亞蘭，學名Cymbidium hookerianum，屬於蘭科，蕙蘭屬，原產於亞洲。圖中品種為粉色東亞蘭。
東亞蘭，也稱作虎頭蘭，常見花色有粉、綠、白、黃等色。東亞蘭的花瓣厚實，花型壯觀，散發著大方、高貴的氣息，其屬名來自希臘文，意思是形似船隻，比喻它片狀花瓣有著船型的深度與弧度。
東亞蘭十分著名的運用，在電影《瘋狂亞洲富豪》中，東方世紀婚禮上的新娘捧花。男女主角參加了富豪朋友的婚禮，婚禮主軸旨在打造具有東方獨特韻味的熱帶風情婚禮。新娘手拿的捧花以東亞蘭為主花，以龜背葉、海芋等花卉與葉材，襯托出東亞蘭的大氣，並且呈現出東方特有的熱帶雨林感，同時展貴族的奢侈與華麗。
現今，東亞蘭廣受栽種，顏色多元，價格日漸親民，無論是盆栽或是切花都是觀賞的好選擇。龍年春節期間，使用別名為虎頭蘭的東亞蘭作為裝飾，也能呈現吉祥與富貴的寓意，以龍虎之姿迎接喜氣洋洋的農曆春節。

Less than twenty days to go, and the Lunar New Year is approaching. When it comes to the Spring Festival, what flowers come to mind?
For the past three years, the “cymbidium” has been a favorite choice for Lunar New Year floral arrangements by Teacher Ni-Yen of Daisy Academy. Today, Daisy Academy introduces to everyone the ” cymbidium” that is full of oriental charm.
The cymbidium orchid, scientifically known as Cymbidium hookerianum, belongs to the Orchidaceae family and the Cymbidium genus. It is native to Asia. The variety depicted in the picture is the pink cymbidium.
Also known as the Tiger Head Orchid, the cymbidium orchid comes in various colors such as pink, green, white, and yellow. The petals of the cymbidium orchid are thick, and its flower shape is magnificent, giving a sense of grandeur and richness. The genus name is derived from Greek, meaning resembling a ship, metaphorically referring to the boat-shaped depth and curvature of its petal arrangement.
One notable use of the cymbidium orchid is in the movie “Crazy Rich Asians,” where it appears as the bridal bouquet at a wedding in the Oriental Century. The protagonists attend a wedding organized by wealthy friends, focusing on creating a tropical-themed wedding with unique Eastern charm. The bridal bouquet prominently features the cymbidium orchid, complemented by foliage such as turtleback leaves and calla lilies. This arrangement highlights the grandeur of the cymbidium orchid and evokes a sense of a tropical rainforest, all while exuding the luxurious and glamorous atmosphere typical of affluent families.
Today, the cymbidium orchid is widely cultivated, and its price has become more affordable. Whether as potted plants or cut flowers, it is an excellent choice for ornamental purposes, offering a variety of colors. Also known as the Tiger Head Orchid, using it as a decoration during the Chinese New Year in the Year of the Dragon can symbolize good luck and prosperity, as it welcomes the festive Lunar New Year with the majestic presence of dragons and tigers.
