今天是龍年的大年初三，祝福大家新的一年好運連連！龍年的第一則識花時刻主題，想與大家分享春節最受歡迎的花材之一 – 「菊花」。
菊花，學名Chrysanthemum morifolium，屬於菊科，菊屬，原產於中國。圖中品種為荷蘭進口復古大菊。
菊花是華人過農曆春節，必備的應景花材，象徵「吉祥富貴」，且花期耐久耐放，往往能夠度過整個農曆春節假期，呈現朝氣蓬勃的狀態。
菊花也是花中四君子之一。《梅竹蘭菊四譜》是明代黃鳳池編輯的木版畫集，收錄梅竹蘭菊圖百幅，菊花可謂凌霜飄逸，世外隱士，比喻陶淵明一般的愜意隱世。
在霜秋後綻放的菊花，挺立於秋風中，不畏嚴霜。陶淵明曾詠道：「三徑就荒，松菊猶存」，意味著在荒涼偏遠之地，君子的高潔依舊可貴，菊花便是為文人墨客所讚揚的、風骨不凡的花卉。
現今菊花種類繁多，從迷你嬌小的小菊、鈕扣菊等，到氣勢萬千的牡丹菊、大菊，大小不一且顏色變化多元，在每年春節期間是許多花藝師愛用的花種之一。
復古大「菊」有著諧音「吉」，有著吉祥如意的涵義，以此花朵作為祝福，祝福大家春節事事順心！龍年大吉！

✿ Flower Recognition Moment ep 26 / Vintage Large-Flowered Chrysanthemum
Today is the third day of the Lunar New Year of the Dragon, and Daisy Academy wishes everyone good luck in the new year! The first floral moment of the Dragon Year is themed around one of the most popular flowers during the Spring Festival – the “Chrysanthemum.”
The Chrysanthemum, scientifically known as Chrysanthemum morifolium, belongs to the Asteraceae family, genus Chrysanthemum, and is originally from China. The one shown in the picture is the vintage large Chrysanthemum imported from the Netherlands.
Chrysanthemums are indispensable auspicious flowers for Chinese people during the Lunar New Year, symbolizing “good fortune and wealth.” With a long-lasting bloom period, they often endure throughout the entire Lunar New Year holiday, presenting a vibrant and lively appearance.
Chrysanthemums are also one of the “Four Gentlemen” in Chinese flower art. “The Four Books of Plum, Bamboo, Orchid, and Chrysanthemum” is a woodcut collection edited by Huang Fengchi during the Ming Dynasty, containing one hundred illustrations of plum, bamboo, orchid, and chrysanthemum.
Chrysanthemums are described as elegant and graceful, reminiscent of recluses like Tao Yuanming, symbolizing a leisurely life away from the world.
Chrysanthemums blooming after the autumn frost stand tall in the autumn wind without fearing severe cold. Tao Yuanming once wrote, “Three paths become wild, yet pines and chrysanthemums still thrive,” meaning that in desolate and remote places, the integrity of a gentleman remains valuable, and chrysanthemums are praised by literati and poets as extraordinary flowers with exceptional character.
Today, there is a wide variety of chrysanthemums, ranging from miniature varieties like button chrysanthemums to grand and magnificent peony chrysanthemums and large chrysanthemums. They come in various sizes and colors, making them one of the favorite flower choices for many florists during the Spring Festival each year.
The vintage large “Chrysanthemum” has the homophonic meaning of “auspicious,” symbolizing good luck and good wishes. With this flower as a blessing, I wish everyone a smooth and happy Spring Festival! Good luck in the Year of the Dragon!
