Oriental lily, scientific name Lilium spp., belongs to Liliaceae, Lilium genus, and is native to temperate regions of the northern hemisphere. The one shown in the picture is a Casa Blanca Oriental Lily.
Oriental lily has a long flowering period and is reasonably priced. Its large flowers appear substantial and elegant, making it a popular choice for placing in home entrances and restaurant entrances. It diffuses a natural and subtle fragrance, making it well-liked by the public. Oriental lily can be frequently seen in places such as restaurants, temples, opening events, community centers, and homes, and it comes in white, yellow, red, pink, and magenta colors. Based on past sales experiences in Daisy Academy, different colors of oriental lilies are favored by various establishments. White is preferred by furniture showrooms, clothing stores, and cafes; yellow is favored by restaurants, yoga studios, and accounting association; and pink and magenta colors are popular for temple ceremonies and opening events. - Oriental lily has a strong fragrance, so it’s not recommended for use in dining table flower arrangements, as the scent might interfere with the aroma of food and affect the dining experience.
- Lily plants, pollen, and scent can be toxic to our furry friends. Friends with pets should carefully assess whether to purchase lilies or avoid exposing their pets to them.
- Oriental lilies can potentially cause pollen allergies. Those allergic to pollen should consider this before purchasing. Additionally, it’s advised not to bring lilies as gifts to your friends or family in a hospital, for other hospital patients to prevent allergic reactions.
- Lily pollen can be difficult to remove from clothing. If concerned, you can remove the anthers containing pollen before they mature or directly cut off the stamens (the elongated part in the center is the pistil, and the surrounding pollen-containing part is the stamen).
